Delivery cost is €30,00
Our service area is around 15 km. We cover Alkmaar and surrounding areas including Bergen,
Schoorl, Bergen aan Zee , Egmond aan Zee, Heiloo, Castricum, Heerhugowaard.
Yes, booking in advance is necessary. We offer a convenient pick-up and drop-off service. To ensure availability on your preferred date and time, we recommend reserving your bike ahead of time through our website.
Yes, you can cancel your bike rental. If you cancel at least 2 days before the scheduled date, there’s no cancellation fee.
For cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours in advance, a 50% charge will apply. Unfortunately, if you cancel less than 24 hours before the booking, no refund can be given. To cancel, please email us at info@bikemaar.com
If you want to adjust the pickup time, switch the type of bike, or choose a different tour, you’re welcome to update your reservation.
Just be sure to let us know at least 24 hours in advance by emailing at info@bikemaar.com
Bike rental
For city bikes a €50 deposit is required.
For Electric bikes a €100 deposit is required.
This can be paid by credit card before the rental.
Once the bike is returned in good condition, the deposit will be refunded using the same payment method. If there’s any damage to the bike, the repair cost will be deducted from the deposit.
The ideal bike for you depends on what you’re planning to do.
If you’re going on a longer ride or would appreciate a bit of extra help while cycling, an electric bike is a great choice.
For everyday use around the city, the city bike is the most popular option.
It’s reliable, comfortable, and designed for getting around using your own pedal power.
Yes, we can deliver the bikes directly to your hotel, hostel, or apartment in Alkmaar.

You must present a valid form of identification, such as a passport or a European ID card (driver’s licenses are not accepted).
For Electric bikes a credit card authorization is required — €100 for electric bikes
Cycling in Alkmaar
While Alkmaar is generally safe, bicycle theft can still happen.
That’s why our bikes include two locks: a ring lock and a cable lock.
E-bikes come with an additional third lock for extra protection.
Use the ring lock to secure the back wheel, and the cable lock to fasten the bike to something solid, like a rack, pole, or fence. If you're cycling with others, feel free to lock the bikes together — just make sure you don’t accidentally connect your lock to the wrong bike!
Alkmaar is generally a very safe city for cyclists, and there aren’t specific areas to avoid.
That said, it’s always wise to trust your instincts. If you find yourself on a quiet street at night and don’t feel at ease, consider choosing a busier or better-lit route instead.
No, you can’t park your bike just anywhere in Alkmaar.
To avoid the risk of a fine or your bike being removed, it’s best to use official bike racks, which are widely available throughout the city.
Avoid leaving your bike in the street, on sidewalks, or blocking pathways.
In busier areas, especially near the train station or the city center, always use the designated bicycle parking spots.
